How to Reduce Lines in your Forehead
An area of concern for many people is their forehead. As aging occurs, the lines in the forehead can get deeper and deeper. There are several procedures in cosmetic surgery that are aimed at the brow and forehead area.
Non-Surgical Approaches
A less invasive approach for younger patients who would like to see the smoothening of their forehead would be Botox. This is by far the most common procedure done on the forehead. Also fillers such as collagen can be injected to improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Usually this is a first-step effort for people who are interested in changing the appearance of their foreheads.
Surgical Approaches
Surgical procedures include the Pretrichial Brow-lift and the Coronal Brow-lift. Both these procedures are permanent and involve the removal of excess skin once the brow is reattached at the hairline. The incision of the Pretrichial Brow-lift is right at the hairline while the Coronal Brow-lift incision is from ear to ear at the scalp. The newest form of lift for the forehead is the Endoscopic Brow-lift. It entails several small incisions behind the hairline to lift the forehead and requires less recovery time than the other surgical lifts. These surgical lifts require general anesthesia administered by an anesthesiologist. Recovery takes a week to 10 days for swelling and feelings of tightness to reduce.
If you are interested in changing the appearance of your forehead and brow, talk to a professional cosmetic surgeon who has experience in these procedures and set up a consultation to see which approach is best for you.
