Don’t Live with a Regrettable Tattoo
Tattoo are very common nowadays, with an estimated 40% of people under the age of 40 having a tattoo. What is also very common is regret for some of the tattoos that are inked on a person’s body. Many people decide to get tattoos when they are young, not realizing that what seemed like a great way to express themselves may not reflect how they will feel ten or more years down the road. Luckily, there are ways to remove tattoos for those that do not want to live with the results of an impulsive purchase of their youth.
Tattoo Removal Options
Unfortunately, having a tattoo removed is not necessarily as quick as having one added. It also can be more expensive. However, for many it is worth the time and expense to finally be rid of a tattoo that they wish they had never had put on their body. The two main options for tattoo removal include:
- Laser treatment. Using what is called a Cool Guide laser, tattoos can be removed through several treatments. With each treatment, the tattoo fades and becomes less noticeable. The amount of treatments needed depends on the colors in the tattoo and the size.
- Surgical removal. The quickest way to have a tattoo removed is through surgery. The area of skin can be removed in one or two sessions. However, not all tattoos are good candidates for surgical removal, especially large areas.
For anyone that has a tattoo that is embarrassing or is regrettable for any reason, make an appointment with a dermatologist that specializes in tattoo removal. They can discuss which option would work best for removing the tattoo and begin treatment.
