Are Your Ready to Toss the Creams and Serums?
Go to the cosmetic counter in any department store and you will find a plethora of products that claim to make you look younger. Cream, serums and gels that offer to tighten skin, remove wrinkles and wipe out bags under your eyes. But if you have tried these expensive bottles of miracle elixers, you already know that there is only so much a topical medication can do to fight the battle against age.
Topical aging products can help improve the skin texture and firmness – but they do not affect the muscles and tissue under the skin. If you have bags under your eyes or deep lines around your mouth, a serum is not going to fix these deep-seeded issues. Fat loss under the skin and changes in the position of the tissues in your face can cause the sagging and drooping look that accompanies age. To fight these issues, you must go more than skin deep.
There are two main options that plastic surgeons use to fight these tissue issues. They can put something under the skin to make it fuller, looking more youthful. Dermal fillers, fat transfer and cheek implants are examples of this. The other option is a deep plane facelift, elevating the skin and tissues underneath back into a more youthful position.
If you have tried the creams and serums, but still see an older version of yourself looking back at you in the mirror, make an appointment to talk to a facial plastic surgeon. When you want to find a solution to dramatically reduce the signs of aging, cosmetic surgery can offer the results you will not find in a bottle or tube.
